Virtues and Benefits of Shalawat Basyairul Khairat

Shalawat Basyairul Khairat is the work of Sultonul Auliya Sheikh Abdul Oadir Jaelani. He is a great wali and is an alim with a very high and noble degree of knowledge in the sight of Allah SWT. He left behind many practices (read: recitations), the benefits of which are to achieve a high degree in the sight of Allah, make sustenance easy, and many other benefits. Among these legacies is the salawat Basyairul Khairat.

Shaykh Abdul Oadir told his students, “Take this salawat. Verily, I have received it by inspiration from Allah SWT”. (Shaykh Abdul Oadir, as-Shalawatul Mansubah lisy Shaykh Abdul Qadir)

Sheikh Abdul Oadir, who has a high degree in the sight of Allah and has a very close relationship with the Messenger of Allah, would very easily be able to meet him. The scholars have agreed that the Messenger of Allah can come to the chosen ones, either while awake or asleep, including to Shaykh Abdul Qadir.

Still quoted from the same book. When Sheikh Abdul Qadir received this salawat from Allah through the intermediary of the Prophet, he then wanted to ask about the benefits and benefits in it. However, before the question that was in his mind was conveyed, it had already been answered by the Prophet Muhammad.

In general, the virtues of shalawat Basyairul Khairat are numerous. But specifically, the benefits and benefits of this prayer can be mentioned as follows:

Firstly, reciting shalawat Basyairul Khairat can elevate the degree of the person who recites it to the highest degree in the sight of Allah.

Secondly, people who have desires or wishes, then recite this prayer before the prayer is offered to Allah, then their wishes will not be in vain.

Third, the sins of the person reading and those present at the place of recitation will be forgiven by Allah SWT.

Fourth, angels will visit him when his death has come. The angels will guard him from being tempted by the devil.

In addition to the virtues and benefits that have been mentioned, there are many other benefits, including (1) in the grave will feel comfortable, there is no anxiety and narrowness: (2) he will be opened 40 doors of mercy, (3) on his head will be installed a lamp of light as a light on the day of resurrection (al-Ba’tsu): (4) in the grave there will be an angel on his right who will comfort him and on his left there is an angel guarding him, (5) on his head there is a crown of glory, get a vehicle from heaven, and will not be seen sadness and regret, and will not get a reckoning on the Day of Judgment.

Later when passing on the path of shiratal mustagim, the shirath will say: “Please pass by, O one who has been freed by Allah, indeed I have been forbidden to you, and please enter Paradise from whichever door you wish.” In addition, everything in heaven was given to him, at each door there was a hut of gold, in each hut there were a hundred palaces of light, in each palace there was a bed of kafur, in each bed there was an angel with beautiful eyes, Allah created the angel from fragrant fragrances as if the full moon, then Allah bestowed what had never been seen by the eyes, never heard by the ears, and never crossed the human heart.

Sheikh Abdul Gadir Jaelani when explaining the virtues of this salawat, he quoted the hadith of the Prophet which means, “On the night of Isra’ and Mi’raj, Allah SWT said in the form of a question to me: “To whom does the sky belong Muhammad? The Prophet replied, ‘Yours, O my Lord! Then Allah said: “Whom do you belong to, Muhammad?” Then the Messenger of Allah fell silent out of shame, so he did not say anything. At the same time, Allah said, “You belong to those who salute you, adding to your glory and majesty.”

After Shaykh Abdul Oadir explained the above hadith, he then told his students that this salawat (Basyairul Khairat) is very much in line with the above hadith. This salawat can open 70 doors of mercy, and the miracle will appear from the wisdom that Allah gives, and it is better than freeing 1,000 slaves, slaughtering 1,000 camels, giving 1,000 dinars in charity, fasting 1,000 years, and in this salawat there are many hidden secrets, it can facilitate sustenance, improve morals, grant wishes, erase sins and cover disgrace, and raise the status of a lowly person.

Such is the history and benefits of reading shalawat Basyairul Khairat. By knowing it, hopefully we can be more enthusiastic about reciting shalawat to the Prophet Muhammad PBUH, especially this shalawat which has many benefits and benefits.
